Super 35mm NXCAM camcorder, the FS100 is a film makers dream camera. An amazing video camera with real video camera features and the size of a DSLR. Sony actually invited some of the most renown indie film makers to brainstorm about what this camera was going to be. And the result is amazing. At least from what I have read. I have not had one in my hands, but I sure hope to very soon. “The NEX-FS100E NXCAM Super 35mm camcorder enables budget content creators and videographers to experience a new level of creative expression,” said Bill Drummond, Strategic Marketing Manager, of Sony Professional. “Sony has responded to professional user feedback to create this new camcorder with an ergonomically designed body and accessories offering really flexibility in use.” Red has promised us a 6000 dollar Scarlet for over 1 year now and as amazing as the Epic is....it still is in the 30,000 dollar price range (by the time you have outfitted it). That is an unbelievable price for a camera that has 5K resolution....it blows the competition out of the water!! BUT!!! It is still way out of the range of most of us struggling film makers. At $5000 plus lens, the FS100 is not cheap. But just think, 5 years ago...would you ever even begun to have thought you could shoot something comparable to a film shot with a 150K Pro Video Camera.
